It has been dubbed “Asia’s Major” and for good reason, as the world’s top female golfers will battle for honours at the 2022 HSBC Women’s World Championship. Both the Lion City and the line-up of golfing stars for this world-class tournament share a common trait: diversity. Our diverse field hails from all over the globe and will converge in a city known for its multi-cultural heritage alongside a treasure trove of immersive lifestyle experiences that visitors can enjoy beyond the tournament.
Culture buffs may want to visit the ethnic Kampong Glam (pronounced Ge-lam) or Katong precincts and learn about the Malay and indigenous Peranakan heritage respectively. Head down to vibrant Chinatown to witness Chinese history and tradition come alive, or the curious sight of a Chinese temple sandwiched between a Muslim mosque and an Indian temple on the same stretch of road – testament to Singapore’s multi-cultural society. Singapore’s ethnic cultures are also best experienced through its food. Pop in at a food centre like Maxwell Market or Chinatown Food Street to sample favourite local street food; drop by casual dining outlets in Kampong Glam or Little India serving spicy curries; or linger at Peranakan restaurants to savour the intriguing combination of Chinese and Malay cuisine.

You can also admire fine art collections at the newly-opened National Gallery of Singapore, the latest jewel in Singapore’s arts scene. Located in the iconic City Hall and former Supreme Court heritage buildings, it is the largest museum in the region housing the world’s most extensive modern Singapore and Southeast Asian art collection.

See the trendy side of Singapore through hipster enclaves like Haji Lane and Tiong Bahru. Haji Lane is peppered with charming multi-label stores, quirky boutiques as well as hip bars and cafes. Tiong Bahru fuses the contemporary with history – it is a quaint residential estate with art-deco shophouses and some of the city’s best food and lifestyle establishments.
