Aussies Minjee Lee and Hannah Green seize control at HSBC Women’s World Championship

Singapore, 28 February 2026 – Australia’s Minjee Lee and Hannah Green will head into the final round of the HSBC Women’s World Championship in pole position after finishing tied for the third round lead on Saturday.

Green, the 2024 champion, signed for a four-under-par 68, while Lee posted a 69 after mixing four birdies with a lone bogey. The pair hold a one-shot advantage over American Angel Yin (68) and Haeran Ryu (70) at The Tanjong, Sentosa Golf Club.

With her husband, Jarryd, on her bag this week, Green credited him for helping her stay composed during a near-flawless round that was marked by five birdies and one bogey, despite his limited caddying experience.

“Thailand last week was the first time he caddied for me. He’s still quite new to this, but he understands the game and helps me stay patient, especially when shots don’t come off or putts don’t drop. I’ll definitely need that patience again tomorrow,” said Green.

The 29-year-old, who holds six LPGA wins, is relishing the challenge of a final round duel with Lee.

“I don’t think we’ve played a final round together before. It should be fun, and I’m sure the Australians will be loving seeing both of us in the final group,” added Green.

Lee is equally excited about renewing the rivalry while managing the demands of the course and tropical conditions.

“I don’t actually feel like we’ve played that much over the years together. We played a few practise rounds, or a few rounds back at home during the off-season. I think it will be a fun challenge tomorrow.

“It felt trickier today, maybe because of the pin positions. That’s what a great championship should be like. Tomorrow, it’s about playing my best and handling the heat well,” said Lee.

Ryu, meanwhile, remains confident of mounting a late charge as she chases her fourth LPGA title, while Yin is hoping for a strong mix of skill and fortune in the final round.

“I’m just one shot behind. Trailing, rather than leading, actually gives me a stronger mindset,” said Ryu.

“You need good golf and a bit of luck. Honestly, there’s not much you can do about it,” added Yin. “Sometimes, they go hand in hand.”
