Lin started playing golf at the age of 8. She credits Shanshan Feng and her father as the individuals most influencing her career. She began playing on the LPGA Tour in 2014. In 2021, she secured season-best finish of T3 at the HSBC Women’s World Championship. Lin has made multiple holes-in-one on the LPGA Tour.
This is her fifth appearance at HSBC Women’s World Championship.
In 2023, she secured two runner-up finishes at the JM Eagle LA Championship and the Portland Classic; recorded five additional top-10.
