Saigo was born in Funabashi in Greater Tokyo and won the Japan Women’s Amateur Championship in 2019. In 2020, she turned professional and began to play at the LPGA of Japan Tour. In 2021, she won runner-up seven times and in 2022, she recorded three wins and two second place finishes in the first six tournaments, after which she rose to 18th in the Women’s World Golf Rankings.
This is Saigo’s debut at HSBC Women’s World Championship.
