Ashleigh Buhai played tennis, filed hockey, cricket and soccer growing up and has played for and helped an organization in South Africa called “Reach for a Dream” which grants dreams to children between the ages of 3 and 18 fighting life-threatening illnesses. She has represented South Africa in the 2016 Rio Olympics, finishing 50th.
In 2020, Buhai posted five top-20 finishes, including a career-best major finish of solo fifth at the AIG Women’s British Open. In 2021, she posted two top-10 finishes of T8 at the Gainbridge LPGA and the Cambia Portland Classic. On 7 August 2022, after 221 LPGA Tour starts, Buhai won her first major title by winning the AIG Women’s Open at Muirfield, Scotland.
