She finished five strokes ahead of her closest competitor, local amateur Jaymie Ng.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsbcgolf.com\/womens\/womens\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/02\/20230209-HSBC-Women-Qualifier-Day-2-387-of-299_1676342438-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9244 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hsbcgolf.com\/womens\/womens\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/02\/20230209-HSBC-Women-Qualifier-Day-2-387-of-299_1676342438-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1706\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tan will compete in the tournament for a fifth time, a record for a local player. She first played in the prestigious tournament as an amateur in the 2014 edition. When she competed in 2017, the HSBC Women\u2019s World Championship was her first professional event. Since then, she has competed on two other occasions in 2019 and 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The HSBC Women\u2019s World Championship National Qualifying Tournament was introduced by tournament sponsor HSBC to ensure a local player will have the invaluable opportunity to compete in a leading LPGA event amongst the world\u2019s best players.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsbcgolf.com\/womens\/womens\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/02\/20230209-HSBC-Women-Qualifier-Day-2-79-of-240_1676342426-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9246 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hsbcgolf.com\/womens\/womens\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/02\/20230209-HSBC-Women-Qualifier-Day-2-79-of-240_1676342426-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1706\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On her round of 75 today: \u201cI made some early birdies during my round, and made some bogeys as well here and there. I turned around a +1 on the front nine which I wasn\u2019t too unhappy about. Then on the back nine, I dropped some shots here and there, which I wasn\u2019t too happy about. Overall, I think, if anything, I would want to work on my irons \u2013 get them more consistent to prepare for the HSBC Women\u2019s World Championship. I\u2019m happy with my chipping and putting so I hope that stays.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old is looking forward to competing in the world-class tournament, which will feature all of the world\u2019s top five players, namely Lydia Ko, Nelly Korda, Minjee Lee, Atthaya Thitikul and defending champion Jin Young Ko.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsbcgolf.com\/womens\/womens\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/02\/20230209-HSBC-Women-Qualifier-Day-2-52-of-240_1676342410-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9248 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hsbcgolf.com\/womens\/womens\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/02\/20230209-HSBC-Women-Qualifier-Day-2-52-of-240_1676342410-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1706\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>She added, \u201cIt\u2019s always a pleasure to play at the HSBC Women\u2019s World Championship at home, especially at Sentosa Golf Club \u2013 somewhere where I practice every day. Being able to have family and friends come out and watch me, it\u2019s always a pleasure and a very special experience for me. On top of that, with the HSBC Women\u2019s World Championship being a top LPGA event, with the world\u2019s top female players coming, it makes it even better. It means a lot to me, and I\u2019m really looking forward to it.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to play well and finish well. At the same time, I want to take as much as I can from the whole experience.
