Sung Hyun Park is a two-time major winner and 18-time winner worldwide. The 26-year-old player from South Korea turned professional in 2012 and began playing on the LPGA Tour of Korea. Between June 2015 and September 2016 she won 10 events on the LPGA Tour of Korea and began playing on the LPGA Tour in 2017. She won her first LPGA Tour event and first major championship at the US Women’s Open in 2017 at Trump National Golf Club in New Jersey. In November 2017, a run of consistent finishes improved her ranking to the World No.1 Golfer and she became the first player in almost 40 years to win the Player and Rookie of the year in the same season.
This year, Sung, captured three titles including HSBC Women’s World Championship as well as five further top-10 finishes of which three were in major championships.
This will be Park’s fourth appearance at the HSBC Women’s World Championship.
