Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship Competition Promotion Terms and Conditions
1.These Terms and Conditions govern the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship promotion (“Prize Draw”) and apply to you so far as the law permits so please read them carefully.
HSBC Group Management Services plc of 8 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HQ is the Promoter of this competition (the “Promoter”) and its contractorHill & Knowlton Strategies Ltd of: The Buckley Building, 49 Clerkenwell Green, London EC1R 0EB.

Can I enter the Prize Draw?
2.No purchase or entry fee is necessary to enter this Prize Draw.
3.The Prize Draw is only open to entrants that satisfy all of the criteria below:
- Are aged 16 years or above at the time of entry into the Prize Draw;
- Are resident and based in Great Britain (this competition excludes residents of Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and other non-UK addresses) at the time of entry into the Prize Draw;
- Have registered with an account on twitter.com, and
- Have completed the entry process set out below.
4.If you are under the age of 18, you must obtain written parental or guardian consent to enter and claim your prize. The Promoter may ask the winner to provide proof of age.
5.This Prize Draw is not open to anyone involved in the running or organisation of the Prize Draw.
How do I enter the Prize Draw?
6.To enter the Prize Draw, entrants must complete the following actions:
- Follow @HSBC_Sport on Twitter; and
- Send a tweet response in reply to the question
- Reply below naming one player who you think will be in the final pair on Day 4 to have a chance of winning a signed pin flag #ADGolfChamps

7.Any entry will be disqualified (at HSBC’s sole discretion) if HSBC believes that it contains, references, is associated with or represents any material that is illegal, obscene, vulgar, offensive, reflects negatively on HSBC or any member of HSBC’s corporate group, or that is otherwise unsuitable. The Promoter also reserves the right to request, and you agree to, take down any tweet which contravenes these terms and conditions.
8.Any incorrect or insufficient information provided will render the entry void.
How are the winners selected?
9.This promotion consists of a single competition which commences at 11:00am BST on 18th January 2017, and entries for that Competition will close at 23:59pm on 19th January 2017.
Following the conclusion of the 2017 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship tournament, entrants that have successfully predicted one player that is playing in the final pairing on Sunday will be placed in a random draw to select one individual winner.
10.If no one correctly guesses one player who plays in the final round on Sunday, the prize will be awarded to an entrant that has guessed a player who played in the penultimate group on Sunday. If there are more than one entrant with the same golfer, a random draw will be conducted amongst those entrants.
11.If the next highest positions are tied between more than one golfer and more than one entrant have guessed correctly, entrants that guessed the tied golfers in question will be entered into a random draw. The random draw arranged by the Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
When will the winners be announced?
12.The Promoter shall also announce the winner on the twitter handle “@HSBC_Sport”. The Promoter will announce the winner by 10:00am on Tuesday 24th January.
13.The Promoter will endeavour to contact the winner of the competition via twitter.com (by sending a tweet mentioning the competition winner’s twitter.com username used to enter the competition). The competition winner will receive a private message requesting contact details. The competition winner should not disclose personal information, including their name and address on twitter.com but will be directed to correspond with HSBC via a private method to arrange for delivery of their prize.
What are the Prizes?
14.The competition winner will receive a tournament pin flag signed by the winner of the2017 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
What else do I need to know?
15.If HSBC is unable to speak to a winner by 30th January 2017, if any winner’s prize cannot reasonably be delivered by post (including if a winner does not provide contact details), or if a winner does not or ceases to meet the eligibility criteria set out above, or declines to accept the prize then the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, select another winner from all valid entries received, or forfeit the relevant prize. If any prize is forfeit, HSBC shall be under no obligation to award that prize to any alternative entrant. Subject to those conditions, the Promoter intends to provide each winner will their prize by 1 March 2017, unless an agreement cannot be reached with any winner or alternative arrangements are agreed.
16.If any prize offered is unavailable due to circumstances beyond the control of the Promoter, the Promoter may offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value. There is no cash alternative. All winning entrants will be responsible for any tax liabilities. The winning entrants are responsible for complying with any reporting obligations arising out of or in connection with the prize draw.
17.The winning entrants agree to take part and allow their name twitter handle to be used in promotional activities as reasonably requested by the Promoter.
18.The Promoter and its group companies and contractors will not be liable (to the extent permitted by law) for any loss or damage arising out of organising or holding this Prize Draw or as a result of your participation in the Prize Draw and any activities the winning entrants and their guest/s undertake during participation in the event and whilst travelling to and from the event, or as a result of your winning, collecting, use or enjoyment of any prize, or if the prize draw does not run as planned. This clause does not seek to exclude the liability of the Promoter and its group companies and contractors for (a) death or personal injury caused by the Promoter and its group companies and contractors negligence, (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and/or (c) any other matter for which it would be unlawful for the Promoter and its group companies and contractors to exclude or attempt to exclude their liability.
19.The Promoter can change these Terms and Conditions or cancel the prize draw at its discretion and without incurring liability as a result.
20.By entering the competition, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the competition entry may be held and used only by the Promoter or its agents and suppliers to administer this Prize Draw and you consent to your data being stored, transferred and processed in the United Kingdom or overseas by the Promoter, its group companies and its authorised third parties for the purpose of administering this Prize Draw.
21.All competition entries and any accompanying material submitted to the Promoter will become the property of the Promoter on receipt and will not be returned. By submitting your competition entry and any accompanying material, you agree to:
- license to the Promoter all your intellectual property rights on a worldwide and perpetual and royalty free basis, with full title guarantee; and waive all moral rights,in and to your competition entry and otherwise arising in connection with your entry to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.
22.You agree that the Promoter may, but is not required to, make your entry available on its website hsbcgolf.com and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the Competition. You agree to grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the Competition entry to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the Competition entry for such purposes.
23.The decision of the Promoter is final and no correspondence in relation to the Promoter’s exercise of its rights in accordance with these Terms and Conditions will be entered into.
24.These Terms and Conditions and any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.
