Former World Number 1 ranked amateur and PGA Tour winner Patrick Cantlay made his first appearance at the WGC-HSBC Champions last year finishing T-15. Cantlay finished in the top-25 of his first four PGA Tour events as an amateur in 2011, including being the low amateur at the U.S. Open. The American also shot the lowest round in PGA Tour history by an amateur when he shot a course record 60 at the Travelers Championship. He won his maiden title in 2017 at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in a playoff. He has enjoyed a strong 2018 with 15 Top 25’s (out of 23 events) and ranked 20th in the FedEx Cup.
