Superheroes Emerge Across Shanghai
Today at Sheshan International golf club the best golfers in the world will face off, all trying to prove they are the ultimate superhero by claiming the Old Tom Morris trophy.
But these elite golfers aren’t the only ones who’ve been proving their superhero credentials in Shanghai. In the run-up to and during the World Golf Championships – HSBC Champions, tournament sponsor HSBC has been hosting the HSBC Superhero Boot Camp. This innovative live experience has given fans across Shanghai the chance to live their dream of being a golfing superhero and test their skills against the best in world.
Throughout the tournament, HSBC has been celebrating the unique superhero traits of four of the best players at WGC-HSBC Champions: Dustin “The Heat” Johnson, Hideki “The Mountain” Matsuyama, Henrik “The Machine” Stenson and Haotong “The Force” Li. The HSBC Superhero Boot Camp is made up of four challenges that tests participants in line with these characteristics: heat, energy, mountain & machine. The event also included a live screen showing the action from Sheshan and a 360° video cinema.
The Boot Camp was even given a star studded grand opening as China’s a-list actor Lu Yi made an appearance alongside HSBC China CEO David Liao and a selection of junior players from the CGA-HSBC China Junior Golf Program.
HSBC has a long term commitment to grow golf at all levels. By investing in programs such as the CGA-HSBC China Junior Golf Program and the HSBC Superhero Boot Camp, HSBC is looking to both ensure new fans in China are attracted to golf and that those new fans have a sustainable structure to support them learning the game.
