In 2012 Stanley was keen to make his Maiden tour victory on the PGA tour. This came at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in Scottsdale. He made an exceptional come back from eight shots behind the leader Spencer Levin. Stanley shot a final round bogey-free 65 for a one stroke victory over Ben Crane.
