Jason Dufner is the most recent first-time Major Championship winner as he claimed the 2013 PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club by two strokes from Jim Furyk. Dufner finished runner-up in last year's WGC HSBC Champions and finished tied 4th at this year抯 WGC Bridgestone Invitational.

 

Dufner has been an on-off member of the PGA Tour since 2004 but a regular since 2009. In 2011 he came close to winning his maiden PGA Tour title at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, losing in a play-off to Mark Wilson. Later that year, he burst into contention at the 2011 PGA Championship and found himself five shots clear with four holes to play. He went on to lose the title in a play-off to his now best friend, Keegan Bradley.

2012 proved to be Dufner's breakthrough year as he won twice on the PGA Tour, first at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and later in the year at the HP Byron Nelson Championship. He went on to finish the year in 4th on the money list. Known for his laidback approach to golf and relaxed demeanor, Dufner is popular amongst players and fans alike and is recognised as one of the PGA Tour抯 jokers, regularly posting jokes and amusing information on his twitter. Dufner is also known to enjoy travelling the world and regularly leaves the PGA Tour to compete in European Tour events in Australia, China and Dubai.

Dufner graduated from Auburn University in 200 with a degree in Economics. Whilst at Auburn he won three times on the collegiate circuit and was an Honorable Mention All-American in 1997. He is still a huge supporter of all Auburn sports teams and regularly spends his spare time watching American football.
