Kruger had an impressive 2011 season. Although not securing his maiden victory , he had four top-10 finishes on the European Tour. He also had eighth place finishes at the Africa Open and the BMW Italian Open, along with a seventh place finish at the Ballantine抯 Championship, making 2011 the most successful season of Kruger抯 career so far.
2012 began in the same successful vein with Kruger securing his first European Tour victory at the Avantha Masters. He scored a final-round of 69, finishing 14-under and therefore securing a two-stroke victory ahead of Jorge Campillo and Marcel Siem.
