The Australian had a stint in Europe on the Challenege Tour which returned two titles in 1998 at the Interlaken Open and the Open de Strasbourg. Two years previously he won his maiden pro title at the Indonesian PGA Championship. A brace of titles came in 2006 when he won the MFS Australian Open on the PGA Tour of Australasia, and the John Deere Classic on the US PGA Tour.

Although no winner's medals have arrived since then, John is having a revival this season and so much so that it's earned him a spot in the field for one of the biggest showcases of the golfing season.
